Empty legs

What is an Empty Leg- or Hot deal of the Day flight?

An Empty Leg flight is a positioning flight flown with a private jet without passengers to return to its home base or another airport to pick up passengers who have chartered the jet. Unless you book this flight and will be the passenger! Empty Leg flight prices can be up to 75% lower than the prices for a chartered private jet flight.


A Top deal of the Day flight is an Empty Leg flight which is unique in either price and/or destination

Can an Empty Leg- or Hot deal of the Day flight be canceled by an operator?

Yes, it can be, even at very short notice! An Empty Leg- or Hot deal of the Day flight can be canceled If the travel itinerary from customers, who charter the aircraft, before and/or after an Empty Leg- or Hot deal of the Day flight changes. An Empty Leg- or Hot deal of the Day flight can also be canceled for example due to certain weather conditions (e.g. heavy fog), certain aircraft deficiencies etc.

An Empty Leg- or Hot deal of the Day flight can also be canceled after successful payment if the owner of the aircraft doesn’t allow the aircraft to be chartered for the flight.

An operator has no obligation to arrange alternative transport and/or an alternative flight whatsoever if an Empty Leg- or Hot deal of the Day flight has been canceled.

If your Empty Leg- or Hot deal of the Day flight is canceled by the operator, you will receive a refund for the total price paid.

For cancellation- and refund policies we would like to refer you to the Terms and Conditions of the operator who is completing your flight as you will sign a direct contract with them.

Can the departure time and/or departure date change and am I eligible for a refund in that case?

Yes, both the departure time and/or date can change, even at very short notice.

An Empty Leg- or Hot deal of the Day flight is preceded and/or followed by a normal chartered flight; therefore, the customers of that chartered flight can decide they want to move the departure time and/or date of their flight. This may have consequences for the departure date and/or time of your Empty Leg- or Hot deal of the Day flight.

Additionally, a flight can also be delayed for example due to certain weather conditions (e.g. heavy fog), certain aircraft deficiencies etc.

If the date of departure or arrival has changed, you have the right to cancel your booking. In that event, the operator shall refund the total price paid.

For cancellation- and refund policies we would like to refer you to the Terms and Conditions of the operator, who is completing your flight as you will sign a direct contract with them.

Who holds accountability regarding my flight and cancellation etc. of my Empty Leg- or Hot deal of the Day flight?

Regarding the execution and/or cancellation of the flight that you have booked, Catch-a-Jet B.V. is not your contracted partner. Therefore, regarding this flight, Catch-a-Jet B.V. has no obligations or responsibilities toward you in whatsoever form or manner. However, if you have any questions regarding your flight, we are still keen to assist you.

Can I select an unlimited amount of Empty Leg flights in the Catch-a-Jet APP?

Yes, you can do this on the Search page by simply adding another city pair. You can find all your added city pairs under the Favorites page.

Booking

How many passengers can travel?

You can see for each type of aircraft the number of available seats. However please be aware that in some cases the actual number of passengers who can travel is less. For example, in case of excessive baggage weight, the number of passengers who can travel can be deduced.

Can more passengers join as originally booked, if there are still seats available?

This should normally be no problem, however, please always check this with the operator or broker beforehand!

Can I cancel a flight?

Yes, you can, even at short notice. However, the terms and consequences of the cancellation are agreed upon directly with the operator or broker. Therefore, for cancellation- and refund policies we would like to refer you to the Terms and Conditions of the operator who is completing your flight or with the broker as you will sign a direct contract with them.

Will the same aircraft be used as in the pictures?

The aircraft pictured is an example of the aircraft type to be operated. Full aircraft details will be provided at the time of booking.

Can I take an unlimited number of bags and/or odd-size bags?

Not always, please contact the operator or broker beforehand to discuss what is possible!

Can I pay for multiple flights simultaneously?

Yes, we can request this for you, please use the contact form which you can find at our Menu tab.
However please be advised that this is often not possible as there are quite a few factors, like airport slots, crew duty limits, which can prevent this.

Can I request another departure- and/or arrival airport and/or date and/or time?

Yes, we can request this for you, please use the contact form which you can find at our Menu tab.

Are passengers with Russian nationality allowed to travel under the current Ukraine war travel restrictions?

In most cases not! Please check this with the operator who is completing your flight or with the broker if there are any restrictions before you complete the booking. If after the booking has been completed it becomes apparent that a passenger is not allowed to travel, then a (partial) refund will most likely not be possible. The Terms and Conditions of the operator or the broker apply.

Can 1 or more passengers be denied boarding and am I eligible for a refund in that case?

Yes, you can be denied boarding if you do not and/or any member of your group does not comply with the travel requirements as laid down in your booking confirmation and/or in the Terms and Conditions of the operator or broker (which you must accept before you can pay for the flight).

Examples in which events boarding can be denied are no valid travel documents, carriage of dangerous goods, negative COVID-19 test (where applicable), etc.

Can the type of aircraft change since my booking?

Yes, it can change.

The operator or broker shall always try to substitute the aircraft with a similar type of aircraft and will do its best to maintain the services contracted for. If the aircraft is substituted for an aircraft of less capacity, the operator or broker shall inform you thereof before departure with as much notice as possible.

Can I order additional services like catering, a taxi or limousine, assistance for a passenger with reduced mobility etc?

Please check this with the operator who is completing your flight or with the broker, if there are any restrictions before you complete the booking. If after the booking has been completed it becomes apparent that a passenger is not allowed to travel, then a (partial) refund will most likely not be possible. The Terms and Conditions of the operator or broker apply.

Do I receive a booking- and payment confirmation after I have paid?

If your payment has been successful, you will receive an email confirmation from Catch-a-Jet B.V. The operator or broker send you an email confirming the payment, the booking and all other passenger- and travel requirements.

Can I book without completing all the tick boxes in the booking process?

No, you can’t. You must accept all tick boxes, except for the confirmation that the person who books the flight is also a passenger.

Can I take my pet?

This will be indicated on the flight overview page. If you have doubts, please contact the operator or broker.

What is included in the flight?

Your travel from gate to gate, as well as related costs like fuel, airway charges, landing fees, VAT, handling fees, etc., are included. The following services may incur extra costs; additional assistance for passengers with reduced mobility, catering, transport to/from departure and arrival airport, etc. The operator or broker can provide you with more details and the payment of any non-inclusive extra service.

Please be aware that there can be an additional charge for de-icing. During the winter season, it can be necessary that the aircraft must be cleared of snow and/or ice etc. to ensure that the flight can be completed safely. An operator doesn't know in advance if de-icing will be required. The operator or broker is entitled to charge you these costs even after you have paid for the flight already.

In some cases, additional taxes for domestic flights can be additionally charged.

Is WIFI available?

This depends on the model of the aircraft, most of the time there is no WIFI available, only on heavy jet-size or bigger plans. Please note that most of the time WIFI is not included in the price.

Can I reserve a flight?

Only when the owner of the aircraft is required to give final permission for the flight to be sold. In this specific case, you get a notification once a reservation has been completed. Once the owner has approved that the flight can be sold you’ll get a push notification with a payment link.

Catch a jet

Do I also have an agreement with Catch-a-Jet B.V. once I have booked a flight with an operator?

Through its platform, Catch-a-Jet B.V. brings travelers who want to fly with a private jet and operators of such jets together. Catch-a-Jet B.V. solely provides online flight search services to its users and, if the user decides to book a flight, intermediary services.

When the user decides to book a flight through the Catch-a-Jet B.V. platform, an agreement for the provision of intermediary services between the user and Catch-a-Jet B.V. is concluded. These services are free of charge for you as a user.

Will Catch-a-Jet B.V. send me any promotional emails, push notifications etc.?

No, only if you allow us to do so! You can switch off the push notifications, however, this could imply that you miss the push notification that we have a matching flight and/or a Hot deal of the Day flight, a reservation confirmation or a charter quote for you!

Will Catch-a-Jet B.V. store any personal data?

No, any data used will be deleted after a booking has been completed for more information please read our Privacy Policy.

Does Catch-a-Jet B.V. own airplanes, employ crew, complete maintenance, plan flights etc.?

The simple answer is no! Catch-a-Jet B.V. is a digital marketplace only and does not sell flights, it only allows passengers and operators or brokers to connect, where possible.

What is an operator?

An operator holds a valid Air Operator Certificate (AOC) which ensures that the highest level of safety, training and maintenance will be always achieved, as laid down in aviation legislation. Regularly all operators undergo extensive audits completed by their respective competent authorities to ensure full compliance with all aviation legislation and its requirements.

What is a broker?

A private jet broker is a trusted entity that will take care of your private charter flight from beginning to end. You can rely on private jet brokers at every stage of arranging your private flight as they help in selecting the operator, planning your trip as per your requirements and protecting your interests throughout.

Do you have examples of the 3 most often used aircraft categories?

Turboprop:
- Up to 6/8 passengers
- Up to 2.5 hours of flying time (depending on the number of passengers/luggage)
- Up to 6 medium-sized suitcases or 8 small 15kg suitcases with 8 passengers)
Examples are Pilatus PC12, Piaggio Avanti, King Air

Entry Level Jet:
- Up to 4 passengers
- Up to 2 hours flying time
- Up to 5 suitcases in total

- Up to 6/8 passengers
- Up to 3 hours flying time

Can my charter flight be canceled?

In extraordinary cases, a charter flight can be canceled for example due to certain weather conditions (e.g. heavy fog), certain aircraft deficiencies, or non-availability of airport slots. For cancellation- and refund policies we would like to refer you to the Terms and Conditions of our partner broker who is managing your flight as you will sign a direct contract with them.

With whom did I enter into a contract?

Your booking is made with our partner broker, so you entered a direct contractual relationship with our partner broker. The flight is provided by and subject to the Terms and Conditions of our partner broker.

Who shall I contact for any inquiries?

Please contact our partner broker, who is managing the booking. You can find all their contact details on the booking- and payment confirmation.

Can my booked flight still depend on the approval of an airport slot?

Yes, it depends if the requested airport slot is approved. In case the slot is not approved you will be contacted to explore other solutions, e.g. different departure- or arrival time.

Who will operate my flight?

This will be an operator and not our partner broker with whom you booked your flight. You can find information about the operator on the flight overview sheet, which you will receive after the booking has been completed.

What is the recommended time to book a charter flight before the actual travel date?

Recommended is 10 days in advance, e.g. to ensure airport slots are available, we strongly recommend booking as soon as possible, especially in the summer when it can be extra busy at the well-known airports.
